My current not-so guilty pleasure, is well, not exactly sun burnt, but more or less, evidently, and thus, for lack of better of terms, sexy. This, wait for it, yes, German quartet, the Sunburns offers the perfect anecdote to this summer’s sound track. The group’s “Youth” EP encompasses a sound that lends itself definitively to its’ namesake: Youth and everything else we associate with being being simple, naive, excited, intrigued, and of course, young. the Sunburns, unlike any band I’ve come across, embody the days we all, admittedly, crave, from way back when. Their latest EP is flawless in all its’ up beat indie/alternative allure; however, it’s the elements of nostalgia: the ability to capture our summers’, or at least my own, from the past, that the Sunburns, this solstice, on repeat para mi.
So fuck the sunscreen, fuck the term “grown up”, and get yourself a sunburn, this summer: sorry mom…
